Selena Gomez has once again addressed comments on social media about her appearance, explaining that medications she takes cause her to “hold a lot of water weight.”
In a TikTok live, the 30-year-old said this is normal. “And then when I'm off of it, I tend to kind of lose weight.”
Gomez, who went public with her lupus diagnosis in 2015, was clearly not happy about giving oxygen to body shamers.
“Really guys? I just wanted to … encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they're going through, and nobody knows the real story,” she said.
“I just want people to know that you're beautiful, and you're wonderful. Yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s**t, but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself and my medications are important, and I believe they are what helps me.”
Gomez added: “Yeah, not a model. Never will be … I’m definitely not that.”
She then thanked fans who support and understand her – “and if not, go away, ‘cause honestly I don't believe in shaming people for body or anything.”
