Jann Arden and Scott Helman bring new meaning to sheet music by singing The Cure whilst sitting on a bed in a Calgary hotel room.
The duo’s twist on the British band’s 1989 hit “Lovesong” is the latest in Helman’s The Hotel Sessions, which previously featured Alessia Cara doing Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
Arden, 57, and Helman, 23, are backed by three musicians for the performance of “Lovesong,” which was captured on video by Oliver Banyard.
It's already earned a rave review from Helman's pals in Walk off the Earth, who tweeted: "Whaaaat!!! This is so good!!!"
Helman, whose hits include "Bungalow," "PDA" and the new track "Hang Ups" (which was just certififed gold), was in Calgary in early March as part of a cross-Canada tour that ends April 6 in North Bay, Ont.
Arden, who calls Calgary home, can currently be seen in the aptly-named CTV comedy series Jann.
